Sharon Osbourne announces another devastating family loss just months after husband Ozzy’s death: ‘Can’t believe I’m saying this’

Both Sharon and her daughter Kelly have published heartbreaking statements

The Osbourne family has experienced another heartbreaking bereavement with the passing of their cherished canine companion Elvis earlier this week, following 14 years with the family.

Sharon Osbourne, 73, revealed the devastating news through social media on Sunday, marking yet another profound loss for the television personality who is still grieving the death of her rock legend husband.

The Black Sabbath frontman passed away from heart failure at their Buckinghamshire residence on July 22 at age 76, just a fortnight after his final performance with bandmates at Birmingham’s Villa Park.

Sharon took to Instagram to share the heartbreaking news, posting photographs of herself with Elvis alongside images showing the pet’s close relationship with her late husband.

“I can’t believe I am posting this but my darling Elvis passed away this week,” she wrote in her emotional message.

“He gave me 14 precious years. He was by my side until the end. Rest in peace my darling boy!”

The uploaded images included Sharon gazing affectionately at Elvis whilst he placed his paws on a table, the dog resting in his personalised bed during her talk show appearance, and touching moments of Elvis with Ozzy, including one where the musician laughed and another showing the pet lying on his chest.

Kelly Osbourne, 40, shared her own poignant Instagram post, describing Elvis as the family’s “guardian angel” who had provided crucial emotional support following her father’s passing.

“Elvis did not leave my side since my dad passed,” Kelly revealed. “He helped get me through the darkest moment of my life.

“I keep trying to find a positive in all of this and the only thing I can come up with is that maybe my dad needed him.”

She reflected on their fortune in having Elvis for 14 years, concluding her tribute: “Thank you for all the love Elvis, you were one of a kind. I love you, sleep well sweet prince, until we meet again!”

Supporters flooded both women’s social media posts with messages of sympathy. TV presenter Piers Morgan was one famous face to reach out to Sharon directly.

“Oh no! So sorry to hear this, Sharon. He was such a lovely dog. Ozzy will take care of him. RIP Elvis,” he penned.

Meanwhile, one of Sharon’s followers added: “My heart goes out to you I’ve lost 2 of my fur babies in less than 2 years. Now Elvis has gone to his dad Ozzy to take care of him.”

“I’m sorry for your loss @sharonosbourne,” a second echoed. “Thinking of you and sending lots of love.”

Elsewhere, a third fan weighed in: “May Ozzy watch over him till y’all meet again,” along with a love heart emoji.

Elvis, identified as a pomsky – a crossbreed of Pomeranian and Siberian Husky – was amongst numerous pets in the Osbourne household, with Ozzy having previously mentioned owning as many as 11 dogs during a 2022 SiriusXM radio appearance.
