Prince William ‘Will Be Fur1ous’ Over Meghan Markle’s Reported UK Return, Claims Royal Commentator
Prince William could be less than pleased if reports of Meghan Markle’s return to Britain prove accurate, according to one royal commentator.
The Duchess of Sussex is expected to accompany Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the UK in 2027 for the Invictus Games One Year To Go event in Birmingham. If the trip goes ahead, it would mark the first time the Sussex family has returned to Britain together since Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee celebrations in 2022.
But one royal expert believes the future King may not welcome the move.
First Family Return in Five Years
The reported visit would represent a significant moment for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, who stepped back from royal duties in 2020 and relocated to California.
Prince Harry is expected to play a prominent role in promoting the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham, an event closely associated with the Duke, who founded the competition for wounded and injured service personnel.
According to reports, Meghan and the couple’s two children are also expected to join him for the occasion.
Commentator Claims William Won’t Be Happy
Speaking to The Sun, commentator Mark Dolan suggested the move sends a clear message.
He claimed the Sussexes “want to be back in the Royal fold” and argued that royal titles and status continue to provide value to the couple.
“They need the optics, they need the titles, they need the status, they need the elevated position it gives them,” Dolan said.
He added that Meghan’s popularity in the United States has declined and suggested the reported return would be “a terrible blow for Team Wales.”
According to Dolan, “Prince William will be furious.”
However, those comments represent his personal opinion, and neither Kensington Palace nor representatives for the Sussexes have commented on the claims.
Invictus Games Remain Central to Harry’s Public Role
Despite ongoing speculation about relations between the Sussexes and the Royal Family, Harry’s commitment to the Invictus Games has remained constant.
The Duke has repeatedly described the competition as one of the most important projects of his life, and Birmingham’s hosting of the 2027 Games is expected to be a major event.
Many supporters view the games as separate from royal family tensions and expect Harry’s involvement to remain the primary focus.
Questions Remain Over Future Royal Relations
Any potential return by Meghan, Harry, Archie, and Lilibet would inevitably spark fresh interest in the state of relations within the Royal Family.
While commentators continue to speculate about possible reactions from Prince William and other senior royals, no official plans have yet been announced.
For now, the prospect of a Sussex family reunion on British soil remains more than a year away—but the discussion surrounding it has already begun.
