A mother and her two young children were found shot to death in their Arkansas home a day after attending her final divorce hearing — and now, authorities say she killed her two children before taking her own life.
On Dec. 3, 2025, at 9:30 a.m., Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office deputies found the bodies of Charity Beallis, 40, and her two young children at their home in Bonanza while responding to a call for a welfare check, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
All three suffered gunshot wounds.
The children were not identified but were born in 2019 and were believed to be about 6 years old, according to online court documents.
On Wednesday, March 4, the sheriff’s office announced in a statement that autopsies conducted by the Arkansas State Crime Lab concluded the two children died by homicide and Beallis died by suicide.

The subsequent investigation into their deaths revealed that Beallis did not want a divorce from her husband, Dr. Randall Beallis, 57, according to the statement.
“An examination of the transcripts of the deposition of Mrs. Beallis in the divorce/custody case and the final hearing on the case on 12-2-2025, reveal that she wished to be reconciled to her estranged husband, which did not happen,” the sheriff’s office said.
“Mrs. Beallis, after being represented by four different attorneys, represented herself in the contested divorce/custody hearing. At the conclusion of the hearing, Mrs. Beallis was ordered to begin joint custody of her children with her estranged husband,” the statement continued.
That night, at around 10 p.m., Beallis deactivated the home’s security system with her phone, to which she had exclusive access, the sheriff’s office said.
No doors or windows to the home were opened after she turned the system off, according to information provided by the alarm company, per the statement.
The investigation also revealed that her estranged husband’s Tesla electric vehicle was nowhere near the residence on the night of Dec. 2, 2025.
His phones did not “ping” any of the cell towers near the house, according to the sheriff’s office.
Beallis filed for divorce from her husband on March 5, 2025, according to online court records first cited by 5News.
In a court filing in March reviewed by PEOPLE, Beallis had asked for full custody of her two children and a protective order for herself and the children because her husband had been arrested and charged with domestic violence.
He was initially charged with aggravated assault on a family member, third-degree domestic battery and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, online jail records show.
Online court documents alleged he choked and caused physical harm to Beallis on Feb. 16, 2025, 5News and KNWA FOX24 reported.

In October 2025, he pleaded guilty to third-degree battery. He received a 1-year suspended sentence and was ordered to pay $1,500 in fines. He was also ordered to have no contact with his estranged wife or any members of her family unless authorized by a valid court order, PEOPLE previously reported.
The two wed in 2015 and stopped living together in February 2025, according to online divorce records.
