New documentary has unveiled never-before-seen footage at one of King Charles’ private homes, Highgrove House.

The private residence, based in Gloucestershire, is rarely shown and open to the public. But new clips of the king inside have revealed how at home he feels on the estate.

The images were shared as part of a documentary airing on Prime Video about the monarch, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision. It’s set to release on February 6, 2026.

Inside King Charles’ Highgrove House

Ahead of the release of the documentary next month, clips of King Charles in the gardens and building of Highgrove House appear in a teaser trailer.

It shows the green-fingered Charles strolling through lush gardens in the sunshine. In others, we see him walking through Highgrove’s Arboretum, shepherd’s crook in hand, or in the kitchen garden – which is recognisable through the famous pink door in the background.

We also see his vegetable patches in the kitchen garden – a hobby the monarch has had since a child. He previously spoke fondly on growing up alongside sister Anne and how they were spend time gardening on palace grounds.

On top of the never-before-seen footage we hear Charles speaking over the past decades about the environment and initiatives to help save agriculture.

King Charles has owned Highgrove House since 1980. He and wife Queen Camilla enjoy escaping to the countryside at the impressive estate. The sprawling gardens have undergone a transformation since they’ve owned the property.

While the gardens are open to the public on selected dates throughout the year, the house remains private to the royals.

Dumfries House also makes an appearance

It’s not the only royal residence that has made an appearance in the trailer. Scotland’s Dumfries House can also be seen in one snippet.

During a birds-eye view, we see the iconic Dumfries maze, designed as part of the restoration plans of the estate. King Charles was inspired by his own memories of running through the maze at Sandringham and wanted to recreate it here. In the centre sits a Japanese-style pagoda.

The monarch saved Dumfries House when the 18th century estate and gardens were set to auctioned off in 2007. It has since undergone a restoration project over the past 18 years.

King Charles documentary

The new Prime Video documentary will see the king reflect on his own time as the Prince of Wales and his commitment to promoting a sustainable world. He has been billed as never wavering from “hope and resilience” during the decades of his fight.

The doc, titled, Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision, sees him watching old clips of his achievements over the years.

It will also highlight the work he has done through the work of his charity, The King’s Foundation. The charity is based at Dumfries House.

Filming took place in early 2025, where the charity is based, as well as Highgrove Gardens.

But cameras also went overseas, showing the impact of Harmony projects the charity is involved with around the world.

Narrated by Kate Winslet, it will launch exclusively on Prime Video on February 6.
