Of course Gwen Stefani was there to support her man! The “Hollaback Girl” singer was all smiles arriving at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville with her husband Blake Shelton, who also hosted the Opry 100: A Live Celebration on March 19. On the red carpet, they were too cute, especially as Shelton snuggled up to his wife and sweetly held her waist as they smiled for photos.

Hosting the Opry’s 100th anniversary event was certainly a major deal to Shelton. As the “God’s Country” singer said in a statement: “Becoming a member of the Opry is a highlight of my life and career, and 15 years later, I still get that same feeling of reverence and excitement every time I walk out on that stage. The Grand Ole Opry has been connecting the country music family for 100 years, and I’m so proud to be part of this historic celebration.”

And when the happy couple arrived at the milestone event, Shelton couldn’t help but hold his wife closely as they posed for photos on the red carpet.

While Shelton has been a devoted member of the Opry for well over a decade, the moment he was invited to join the country music institution totally took him by surprise.

On September 28, 2010, Shelton was asked to join the Grand Ole Opry with a tweet while he was on stage with Trace Adkins. After the country stars performed their song “Hillbilly Bone,” Adkins told the audience, “Hey, y’all know how Blake’s always sitting and he’s famous for doing the Twitter thing. You know, he’s always sending tweets…Well, the Grand Ole Opry sent Blake a tweet tonight. Here, look.” And that tweet was the invite!

Since falling in love as Coaches on The Voice, the two have spoken many times about how much they believe in one another, and their perhaps unexpected relationship.

“It’s not something that anybody could have seen coming, besides God, I guess. It doesn’t look like it would make sense, you know?” Shelton told CMT, according to PopSugar. “But all I can tell you is, it does. It just makes the most perfect sense for us and where we’re at in our lives. I tell people all the time, ‘Gwen saved my life last year.’ She did, and I think she would probably tell you something similar about me.”

In June 2022, Shelton told People described Stefani as “magical.”

“I wish everybody could have a chance to meet and talk to Gwen Stefani at some point in their life because you’ll just be a better person for it, is the only way I know to say it,” he told the magazine. “She’s just a magical person to be around.”
