A Beautiful Tribute: Catherine Echoes Diana’s Spirit Ahead of Together At Christmas

In a deeply moving gesture that has touched hearts across the United Kingdom, the Princess of Wales has quietly lent her support to a heartfelt charity initiative — one that carries profound emotional weight and a clear thread of continuity with the legacy of the late Princess Diana.

This autumn, Princess Catherine contributed a personal recipe and a warm message of support to Choirs For GOOD FOOD!, a charity cookbook created by the organization Choirs For Good. Published on 20 September 2025, the book raises vital funds for children’s hospices in Wales, including Hope House Tŷ Gobaith and, most significantly, Tŷ Hafan — the hospice of which Catherine became Royal Patron earlier this year.

The organizers described the project as “an archive of love and memories,” with every page infused with care and humanity. Alongside Catherine’s contribution, the cookbook features recipes from well-known figures such as Ainsley Harriott, Aled Jones, chef Bryn Williams, and Georgie Grasso. The first copies were launched at an emotional concert held at the historic Holy Trinity Church in Llandudno, where the community gathered to celebrate and support children facing life-shortening conditions. Catherine’s involvement with Tŷ Hafan marks a symbolic passing of the baton from Princess Diana, who previously held patronage of the hospice. In January 2025, the Princess of Wales officially took on the role and made a deeply personal visit to the hospice in Sully, near Cardiff. There, she spent time with staff, families, and the children in their care.

Irfon Rees, Chief Executive of Tŷ Hafan, said: “As our Patron, Her Royal Highness will be an inspiration to the children with life-shortening conditions and their families, to our dedicated staff and volunteers, and to everyone who has supported us so generously. In June 2025, to mark Children’s Hospice Week, Catherine wrote a poignant open letter praising the extraordinary work of hospices across the UK: “I have had the immense privilege of seeing firsthand the extraordinary work of our children’s hospices… lifting spirits through laughter, fun and play, as well as listening, holding, caring and sharing. They support children and families through life, death and beyond.”

As the festive season approaches, the Princess is preparing to host her beloved annual Together At Christmas carol service at Westminster Abbey on Friday, 5 December 2025. The service, now in its fifth year, will welcome 1,600 guests for an evening of music, reflection, and warmth. Kensington Palace has revealed this year’s theme: “In a world that can often feel fragmented and disconnected, love is the force that reconnects us all.”

From sharing a simple recipe to championing life-changing hospice care and bringing communities together through music, Catherine’s actions this season carry a quiet but powerful message: kindness often lives not in grand gestures, but in small, sincere acts that connect people and uplift entire communities.
