Adam David And Ricardo Moreno Compete In The Voice Battles With Cover Of Coach Michael Bublé’s “Home”

Michael Bublé had a tough choice to make after two of his Voice team members covered his song “Home” during the battles for Season 27.

Bublé co-wrote “Home” with Alan Chang and Amy Foster-Gillies. He released the track in January 2005 as the first single from his album It’s Time.

The emotional song soared to the #1 spot on Billboard’s Adult Contemporary chart. Additionally, it has since been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

“Home” gained a country music connection in 2008 when Blake Shelton covered it. His rendition reached the #1 spot on the Hot Country Songs chart and also crossed over to claim the #41 spot on the all-genre Hot 100 chart.

Like Bublé’s recording, Shelton’s version of “Home” has been certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Shelton and Bublé have performed the song together live a few times. They also re-recorded the track as a holiday-themed duet, which they released in 2012 on Shelton’s album Cheers, It’s Christmas.

Considering how beloved “Home” is, Team Bublé’s Adam David And Ricardo Moreno were under a lot of pressure when they took to the Voice stage to sing it during the battles. But they rose to the occasion, delivering a reimagined version of “Home” that left their coach facing a difficult decision.

David opened the performance and showcased his powerful, soulful voice as he continued. Moreno added an intriguing element as he switched between singing in English and Spanish throughout the battle.

With two talented singers in front of them, the Voice coaches found themselves mesmerized by David and Moreno’s version of “Home.”

“I feel like both of you put your heart into it,” said John Legend. “The song has a lot of heart and sincerity already. But it takes great performers to capture that, and I feel like both of you were able to do that.”

Kelsea Ballerini added, “It was beautiful to be in a room to witness that. Very special, very beautiful.”

However, Adam Levine had some critiques, saying he felt there were “peaks and valleys” to the performance:

“You really didn’t get into your pocket with all of it until a little bit later, and then it got really strong. You guys both have really, really pretty voices.”

Then, Bublé offered his commentary. He told David and Moreno it was “incredibly emotional” for him to watch them sing his song. “I can’t really thank you enough for honoring me,” he said.
