While the Princess of Wales has been incredibly busy this year already, the royal hasn’t yet been seen in a tiara, with these moments usually reserved for major events.

However, on Saturday, Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles would be hosting the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr. Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, next month. The Nigerian leader will conduct a state visit to the UK on 18 and 19 March in the first state visit for a Nigerian leader in 37 years.

Charles has previously been to the African nation on four occasions, travelling there in 1990, 1993, 2006 and 2018, all of which he was the Prince of Wales for.

Although details about the state visit haven’t been fully confirmed, there is usually a State Banquet to mark the occasion, in which royal ladies are seen wearing tiaras. If Kate were to attend, then it would be her first tiara moment of the year.

Kate’s 2025 tiara moments

The royal was incredibly busy on state business last year, as she attended three State Banquets over the course of 2025, playing host to world leaders from France, the United States and Germany.

For the first state visit, which took place in July, Kate wore the Lover’s Knot tiara, which is thought to be her favourite. The stunning diamond and pearl diadem was originally made for Queen Mary in 1913 and was gifted by the late Queen to her new daughter-in-law, Diana, Princess of Wales, when she married the then Prince Charles.

When President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump had their state visit in September, the mother-of-three wowed in the same tiara, which has been valued at £1 million.

However, at the German state visit in December, the royal switched things up when she opted to wear the Oriental Circlet Tiara, which at that point hadn’t been worn by a royal for 20 years.

After being made for Queen Victoria in 1853, lovingly designed by her German-born husband Prince Albert, it was tweaked by Queen Alexandra who added rubies to the design. Once in the possession of the Queen Mother, it was a much-loved and much-used item. However, when the late Queen inherited the Oriental Circlet, she only wore it once, during a trip to Malta in 2005.
