Eminem and his ex-wife Kim Scott are about to become grandparents after their daughter Hailie announced her pregnancy – but just who is the woman Eminem so often rapped about, and where is she now?

Eminem is entering a new stage of his life – as a grandpa.

On October 3, the rapper shared the happy news in a new music video for the song “Temporary (feat. Skylar Grey)” from his latest album, per People.

The video showcases a collection of heartwarming home videos capturing precious moments with his daughter, Hailie Jade Mathers, before concluding with a clip of Hailie revealing that she’s pregnant.

As seen in the video, Hailie – who married her partner Evan McClintock earlier this year – takes out a sports jersey that reads “Grandpa” and hands it to her dad with a sonogram pic.

The 28-year-old podcaster confirmed the news in another announcement shared on her Instagram page. “mum & dad est. 2025”, she wrote in her caption, alongside a pic of her hugging her husband, while holding onto a sonogram image.

Eminem shares his daughter with his ex-wife, Kim Scott, who rarely makes public appearances these days. For those who remember, Scott and the “Without Me” singer had a turbulent relationship in the 1990s and early 2000s, before calling it quits for good in 2007.

Kimberly Ann Scott and her twin sister Dawn Scott were born in Michigan on January 9, 1975, per People. According to the same outlet, the siblings ran away from home in 1988 and ended up at a youth shelter near Detroit. Per Page Six, the sisters had left to escape their alcoholic stepfather.

How old was Eminem when he met Kim Scott?

Eminem met Kim Scott at a house party when he was 15 and she was 13, per the rapper’s 2004 interview with Rolling Stone.

“I was at a friend’s house, and his sister was friends with her, but she hadn’t seen Kim in a while ’cause she was in the youth home,” he said in the interview. He continued, “I said to my friend’s sister, ‘Yo, who was that? She’s kinda hot.’ And the saga began. Now there’s the constant struggle of ‘will I ever meet somebody else that’s gonna be real with me, as real as I can say she’s been with me?'”

After meeting as teenagers, the couple would go on to have an on-off relationship for years. Per People magazine, they tied the knot twice – the first time in 1999 and the second time in January 2006 – before divorcing for good in December 2006.

“It’s a love-hate relationship, and it will always be that,” Eminem told Rolling Stone, referring to their relationship. “We’re talking about a woman who’s been a part of my life since I can remember.”

Many of Eminem’s songs – including the controversial “’97 Bonnie & Clyde”, in which the rapper describes him and his daughter disposing of her dead mother’s body – are said to be about his turbulent relationship with Scott.
