Blake Shelton is opening up about wife Gwen Stefani’s relationship to faith

“When you’re around her, everything she sees, she sees God in it,” he told Kelleigh Bannen on Apple Music Country’s Today’s Country Radio

Blake Shelton sees a similarity between wife Gwen Stefani and Dolly Parton.

In a new interview on the Apple Music Country show Today’s Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen, the country star, 48, opened up about how Stefani’s relationship with faith has strengthened his own and compared her to both Parton and Little Big Town’s Kimberly Schlapman.

Shelton said of Stefani, 55, “I’ve learned so much from her, and she’s really the person that’s helped me get in touch with my faith and get serious about it and not just something that you say at an awards show, you know?”

“She reminds me to think about it all day long,” added the “Texas” singer. “When you’re around her, everything she sees, she sees God in it.”

He spoke about why Stefani’s relationship with God makes her “really special.”

“Her faith is alive, and it’s incredible to be around her,” said Shelton. “She’s so happy about it, and she loves to share it to anybody that’s listening.”

Bannen then likened the way Stefani approaches religion to the “light” she sees in Parton, 79, and Schlapman, 55.

“That’s funny you say that about Kimberly. I’ve always thought about that with her, too,” he said of the Little Big Town member. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen her without a smile from ear to ear, you know?”

Shelton continued, “[Schlapman is] just an incredible person, and Dolly obviously, but Gwen has that, too. She just has that.”

Stefani and Shelton began dating in 2015, following their respective divorces from Gavin Rossdale and Miranda Lambert, and eventually wed in 2021.

The “Hollaback Girl” singer got candid about the role faith plays in their marriage during an April interview on The Drew Barrymore Show. She was asked about the best advice she’s received since tying the knot with Shelton.

“Best advice would probably be make sure you have a third party,” said Stefani, pointing up as she seemed to reference God.
