The Hip Hop star was found unresponsive by his girlfriend

Rich Homie Quan passed away last month due to a drug overdose
The hip-hop world continues to reel from the sudden loss of Atlanta rapper Rich Homie Quan, whose death in early September has now been officially attributed to an accidental drug overdose.
The Fulton County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed this week that the 33-year-old artist, born Dequantes Devontay Lamar, succumbed to a combination of fentanyl, alprazolam, codeine, and promethazine.

Rich Homie Quan died at his home in Atlanta
The news of his passing first broke on September 5, when Atlanta’s Grady Memorial Hospital notified authorities.
An autopsy conducted the following day concluded that the rapper’s death was due to the combined toxic effects of the substances, ruling it as an accident.
Rich Homie Quan was discovered unresponsive at his home by his significant other, who initially thought he was asleep on the sofa.
When she returned after taking her son to school, she realized he hadn’t moved and called 911, reporting that he wasn’t breathing and had foamed at the mouth.
Police who arrived on the scene confirmed he was not alert or breathing.
Further details emerged from an incident report, revealing that his brother had earlier found the rapper unconscious on the kitchen floor.
After helping him onto the couch, he left, not realizing the severity of the situation.
Rich Homie Quan, another star lost to drugs
Rumors about drug use had already started circulating on social media shortly after his death, but the medical examiner’s report has now confirmed the cause.
Rich Homie Quan’s passing adds to the growing list of artists whose lives have been tragically cut short by drug-related issues, raising further concern within the music industry.
The rapper first rose to prominence in 2013 with his hit “Type of Way,” which climbed the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
He continued to make his mark in the hip-hop scene with the 2015 follow-up track “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and worked alongside notable Atlanta artists like 2 Chainz and Jacquees.
He also collaborated with Young Thug on the Cash Money Records project “Rich Gang.”
Quan’s funeral was held on September 17, but it stirred controversy when fellow rapper Ralo live-streamed the service on Instagram.
The act prompted backlash online, with many fans calling it disrespectful.
