What’s going on? Eminem creates a buzz by kneeling at one of the biggest events

Eminem creates a buzz by kneeling at one of the biggest sports events in history, drawing millions of viewers.

Fans are speculating about the meaning behind Eminem’s kneeling gesture during the recent Super Bowl game.

Eminem’s Kneeling Moment at the Super Bowl

The Super Bowl, one of the most anticipated sporting events of the year, aims to crown the champion of American football. Last year, it attracted a staggering 100 million viewers worldwide.

To heighten the excitement of the game, organizers invited a slew of renowned artists to perform. The recent event featured a star-studded lineup including Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, Kendrick Lamar, and 50 Cent.

However, the name that garnered the most attention was Eminem. Tasked with performing during the halftime show, Eminem delivered a memorable rendition of “I Ain’t Mad at Cha,” a tribute to his late friend, rapper Tupac Shakur.

What’s more notable is that at the end of his performance, Eminem unexpectedly knelt on stage—a move that caught everyone by surprise. The action quickly went viral. A video of this moment, shared by Complex Music, garnered 2 million views within hours of posting. Many news outlets, such as RT, which did not cover the game, chose to write about Eminem’s kneeling instead.

The online community immediately began speculating about the reasons behind the gesture. Some believe Eminem was paying tribute to Tupac Shakur, the rapper who tirelessly fought for equality before his death in 1996.

However, the majority speculate that Eminem was following the lead of former NFL player Colin Kaepernick. Kaepernick was the first athlete to kneel on the field in protest against racial discrimination, a gesture he started during a 2016 football season game.

Some sources even claim that the organizers were aware of Eminem’s intention to kneel and had instructed the 50-year-old rapper not to perform this action. This inadvertently dragged the NFL (National Football League) into controversy. In an official statement, the NFL denied prohibiting Eminem from kneeling.

“We were aware of Eminem’s plan to kneel during rehearsals but did not prevent it,” said a league spokesperson.

To date, the controversy surrounding Eminem’s kneeling moment remains unresolved. “While kneeling has become familiar in football, it gained renewed attention when Eminem did it on one of the world’s largest stages,” RT described.

In this year’s Super Bowl, the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Cincinnati Bengals with a score of 23-20.
