SZA has officially announced that Lana, the deluxe edition of SOS, is around the corner, with a little help from Ben Stiller.
In two teaser videos posted to social media on Monday (December 16), Stiller can be seen lip-syncing to a brand new song called “Drive” while aptly driving a car late at night.
When SZA’s emotive lyrics hit a bit too close to home, however, the actor risks his safety by closing his eyes and veering into the other lane.
It is believed that Stiller will be starring in a full music video for the upcoming track.
In her caption, SZA confirmed that the long-awaited project will be released this Friday (December 20).
“DELUXE (Lana) 12.20.24,” she wrote. “THANK YOU @benstiller [face holding back tears emoji] [heart hands emoji].”
The clips also serve as a throwback to Jack Johnson’s 2003 music video for “Taylor,” which also saw Ben Stiller lip-syncing.
As for SZA’s unlikely friendship with the actor, the pair bonded earlier this year over the singer’s love of the TV series Severance, which is co-directed by Stiller.
The “Kill Bill” hitmaker expressed her desperation for a second season of the show by writing on social media: “Was tryna be polite but I really need a new season of severance right the fuck now.”
Stiller responded: “Ok ok got it.”
Earlier this month, a trailer for the second season of the Apple TV+ show was released ahead of its premiere on January 17, and Stiller brought it to SZA’s attention.

SZA previously suggested that Lana would be a completely separate project to her blockbuster sophomore album, SOS, which arrived in December 2022.
She said to Kai Cenat on his livestream last month: “There’s a whole new project that you will hear […] It will be out before the year is over.”
The TDE singer had earlier revealed that she was restarting work on the project after leaks: “So, we’ll make this really simple. Y’all leaked three songs from the deluxe. At this point, y’all can keep the throwaways and leaks. I’ll be starting Lana from scratch. Do not ask me about it again. Thank you.”
Lana‘s long-awaited release will arrive ahead of SZA’s co-headlining Grand National Tour with Kendrick Lamar, which kicks off in April.
