The Prince and Princess of Wales have made clear they will stay away from Royal Ascot should any members of the York family be in attendance, according to an insider.

The source spoke to the Mail, stating: “I can tell you that William and Catherine won’t go if any of the Yorks are there.”
A spokesman for Kensington Palace has declined to offer any comment on the matter.
Meanwhile, a royal source has insisted that discussions regarding Ascot arrangements are not currently being considered, saying: “Conversations around Ascot aren’t on our radar.”

Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have been informed they will not be welcome to join senior royals at the June event, with participation in both the Royal Box and the traditional carriage procession now off limits.
While the Yorks would technically still be permitted to attend the races as private individuals, they would not form part of the official royal contingent.
The two sisters are expected to be absent from prominent royal occasions for the foreseeable future.
Their father, Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was taken into custody on February 19 over allegations of misconduct in public office. He has denied any wrongdoing.

Neither princess has been photographed alongside Andrew since his arrest took place.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have historically maintained a more guarded stance towards the York family compared to King Charles.
Beatrice and Eugenie mother, Sarah Ferguson, was excluded from William and Catherine’s 2011 wedding but received invitations to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s nuptials in 2018, the late Queen’s state funeral, and the Coronation concert held at Windsor Castle.
William and Catherine’s enthusiasm for Royal Ascot also differs markedly from that of the monarch and Queen Camilla.

During last year’s meeting, William made only a single-day appearance whilst Catherine did not attend at all.

The King, by comparison, was present throughout the entire event despite continuing his cancer treatment at the time.
An acquaintance of the princesses has suggested that any discussion of June’s arrangements remains premature, with no firm decisions yet taken.
Buckingham Palace has refused to comment on the situation, whilst Ascot has not responded to enquiries.
