After Kyle Kuzma proposed to Winnie Harlow, more surprises ensued — and the card game UNO

As you’ve probably heard by now, Kyle Kuzma and Winnie Harlow are engaged.

The proposal flooded news sites and social media feeds Tuesday after the Milwaukee Bucks newcomer and his trailblazing supermodel fiancée made the exciting announcement via a joint Instagram post.

“Thank you everyone for your congratulations, blessings and well wishes,” Harlow, aka Chantelle Brown-Young, wrote on her Insta Story with emojis. “Absolutely over the moon.”

From how the proposal went down to the surprises that ensued, here’s what to know:

How did Winnie Harlow and Kyle Kuzma meet? When did they start dating?

The two started dating in 2020 after Kuzma slid into Harlow’s Instagram DMs not once, but twice, she previously said on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show.”

How did Kyle Kuzma propose to Winnie Harlow?

Kuzma and Harlow got engaged on Valentine’s Eve on their way to Turks and Caicos, according to Vogue.

While Kuzma had been planning the proposal for six months, he had initially decided he wanted it to happen at the Caribbean island back in 2022, when the two traveled there together for the first time, the Vogue report said.

Ahead of the holiday, which fell around NBA all-star weekend, Kuzma told Harlow they were going on a long weekend getaway to the island. Kuzma chartered a private plane, which was decked out with red roses, balloons, chocolate and Champagne, Vogue reported.

While Harlow noticed it was more lavish than usual, she just assumed her beau was being romantic for Valentine’s Day.

According to Vogue, after the couple boarded, Kuzma asked Harlow to sit beside him and read her a poem he had written. The last line: “Will you be my wife?”

She said yes before Kuzma had the chance to pull out the showstopping ring.

More surprises followed the proposal — and UNO

What do celebs do right after they get engaged? Apparently, play UNO.

“I’m going to win this time,” Harlow said, cards in hand, in a video clip she shared on Instagram.

“I won first,” she added, gesturing to her rock. “So, it’s OK.”

“Kicked that ass in uno,” Kuzma commented on the post.

Once the couple landed, the surprises continued for Harlow.

As the two walked into their villa, Harlow was met with a surprise engagement party with both her and Kuzma’s families. The couple shared a video of that on Insta, too.

As family members shouted “Surprise!” and cheered, Harlow emotionally collapsed to one of her knees in tears with the biggest grin on her face.

Sprinkled “congratulations” can be heard in the background as Harlow hugged and jumped around with loved ones, who were donning black hoodies featuring a stunning photo of the couple with the hashtag “#shesaidyes.”

Another surprise: A beautiful dinner set up on the beach with surf and turf, and wine, Vogue reported.

And then came the fireworks. Harlow exuded excitement as she filmed them going off behind her.

“Happy New Year!” Kuzma joked in Harlow’s video.
