Snoop Dogg inadvertently offended his ‘nephew’ Kendrick Lamar after he posted his rival Drake’s diss track Taylor Made Freestyle to his Instagram.

Now Snoop has revealed how he privately reached out to Kendrick to apologize for the misunderstanding.

During an interview with Bootleg Kev, Snoop, who previously declared Kendrick the ‘King of the West’, revealed he called the Not Like Us artist, 37, to apologize and left a message conceding he was ‘f**ked up.’

‘That’s my nephew, man. He’s a rapper, he’s supposed to speak his mind and tell his truth. That’s the way he felt, you know what I’m saying? And he has the right to say that.

‘I’m his big homeboy so I have to take what’s given to me from his perspective because he’s speaking truth. And the truth shouldn’t hurt you, it should make you better… I’m one to accept truth when it’s brought to me directly.’

‘He feels that I shouldn’t have played that. “Damn, I was on them edibles,”‘ he recalled. ‘”I gotta be more careful. You right, nephew.”‘

Taylor Made Freestyle takes aim at Kendrick features AI-generated vocals of Snoop and was attached to a post plugging Snoop’s line of cocktails, Gin and Juice.

Snoop shared the post to his Instagram but was unaware that it was set to the diss track until it was too late.

The blunder clearly struck a nerve with Lamar, who even called out Snoop for the music in the lyrics for wacced out murals. ‘Snoop posted “Taylor Made”, I prayed it was the edibles,’ he sang.

Snoop admitted he didn’t listen to the music attached to the post prior to posting it.

‘What had happened was, I did a collaborative post with someone,’ Snoop explained. ‘When I do it, I don’t listen to the music, I just see Gin & Juice, because it’s my brand. So when I post it, I’m thinking I’m posting Gin & Juice. I don’t know what song this is, I’m not hip to everybody’s music.’

‘Then I get the word, “Nephew didn’t like what you did,”‘ he said. ‘”What did I do?! “You played some music.” “What music?!”‘

The error of his ways dawned on him after he looked back at the post.  ‘I’m like, ‘Aw, that’s cause,”‘ he recalled.

‘So then I deleted it, called nephew, left him a message ’cause he ain’t pick up, he was working on his s**t. I left him a message, “Nephew, it’s Uncle Snoop. I got the message. I apologize, I was f**ked up. My bad.’

Asked if he felt ‘weird’ about Drake using an AI-generated version of his voice in his song, Snoop said: ‘I don’t want to be in nobody’s s**t man, I like being in my own s**t.’

While Snoop was unaware his voice was being used in the track, which also featured AI vocals of the late Tupac, he understood why someone might want to incorporate his stylings into their music.

‘I’m such a big figure, I’m Uncle Snoop. I’m accessible to everybody so everybody feels like they can because I don’t have too many parameters when it come to me,’ he explained.

However he drew the line at feuds: ‘But when it comes to beef, that’s a real parameter that I do have. I don’t get in nobody’s beef, I’m usually the one who ends the beef. But if it’s out of my reach, then I step out and allow two men to get a understanding,’ he said, stressing he wanted that to be the case with Kendrick and Drake.

‘And that’s what I feel like these two men and two rappers should establish, where they don’t need me to take sides or jump in.

‘I’m from the West, so my heart lies on the West. But when it comes to this s**t, you gon’ handle your business ’cause you from the muthaf**king West! You don’t need no help. And if you needed help, you wouldn’t have to ask. I’d have been on the double.’

Snoop had no comment when asked about about Drake’s lawsuit against United Music Group over Kendrick’s track Not Like Us.

‘Next question,’ he said with a laugh as he lit up a joint. ‘On the West, we hold court in the streets,’ he added.
