The Testaments Season 2 Is Already in Motion — and the Cast Says Gilead’s Chaos Is Only Beginning
Fans of The Testaments officially have more to look forward to — because season 2 is already moving forward, and according to showrunner Bruce Miller, the story of Gilead is only getting darker from here.
The Hulu series was renewed ahead of the season 1 finale, and Miller says the writers were already deep into planning the next chapter before viewers even saw how season 1 ended.
And after that finale…
fans are already spiraling with theories.
Season 1’s ending changed everything
The season 1 finale delivered several huge twists — including Becka killing her father, her mother taking the blame, and Agnes learning that Elisabeth Moss’s June Osborne is her birth mother.
The final image of Daisy, Agnes, and Shunammite walking together has become one of the most discussed scenes online, with fans convinced it signals an entirely new alliance heading into season 2.
Bruce Miller says he has years of story planned
Miller told People he’s thinking far beyond another single season.
He says his long-term vision for the adaptation is around 30 to 40 episodes, explaining that he always approaches a pilot imagining “hundreds” of possible story directions.
He also noted how important it is to keep production moving while the cast remains close in age to their characters.
The cast is eager to return
The young cast — including Chase Infiniti, Lucy Halliday, Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti, Birva Pandya, Isolde Ardies and Hattie Kragten — has already become a huge part of why viewers are so invested.
Miller praised the group as “spectacular,” saying they’re all eager to return.
Meanwhile, Blanchard shared that she’s especially curious to see how Shunammite begins questioning Gilead after the traumatic events of the finale.
Fans already bracing for a more intense season 2
With secrets exposed, loyalties shifting, and trauma rippling through the school, viewers believe season 2 could be even more emotionally devastating than the first.
And if season 1 proved anything…
it’s that no one in Gilead is safe anymore.
