Liam Payne fans are outraged as a new TV show about late star has been announced.
A programme is set to air which shows the highlight’s of the singer’s life but many are not happy this has come so soon after his death. An ANC special is due to air on Hulu on Friday called Liam Payne’s Final Days.
The synopsis of the documentary reads: “Drugs, a trashed hotel room, and a deadly fall: How One Direction’s Liam Payne tragically died. The boy band singer’s sudden death sparked renewed questions about the dark side of fame. How did the 31-year-old’s brilliant star fade so dramatically?”

There is expected to be interviews with X Factor contestant Mary Byrne who was on the show in 2016 when Liam joined One Direction with Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson. It will also feature Azadeh Aalai, One Direction fan Natalie Barada and ABC News contributors Chris Connelly, Kelley Carter and Megan Ryte.
However, many fans have taken to social media to say it is too soon to air such a programme. One said: “Wow disgusting, but anything in order to gain profit I guess. even exploiting such an horrific death,” as another added: “He is not buried yet and y’all are ready to profit off him. It’s sickening.”
“I don’t even believe the family has buried this man yet but yet ABC News wants to do a special,” a third said, with a fourth saying: “It’s been one week.”
Liam passed away at the age of 31 on Wednesday October 16 when he fell from his third floor balcony while staying in Argentina. The much-loved singer had reportedly taken a mixture of drugs known as ‘pink cocaine’ before his tragic death.
Materials extracted from the star’s body in an autopsy following his death on Wednesday had reportedly determined the presence of the Class-A drug, which contains a lethal mixture of MDMA, ketamine, methamphetamine, cocaine, benzodiazepine and crack.
The designer drug, which dates back to the 1970s and resurfaced in its modern form in Colombia around 2010, has quickly grown in popularity in Latin America, and has now spread to Europe. Pink cocaine has been linked to a growing number of drug-related deaths in recent years.
The drug is typically found in powder or pill form and is known for its vivid pink colour, which is artificially added to make it more appealing. Friends have since claimed that Liam was “preyed on” by local drug dealers and had been clean just two days prior having undergone medical examinations in order to renew his American visa.
