Gwen Stefani found more than just a paycheck when she joined The Voice in 2014. The former No Doubt frontwoman met future husband Blake Shelton. While the “Hillbilly Bone” singer, 48, officially retired from The Voice in May 2023, Stefani returned for season 26 alongside Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, and Reba McEntire. Newcomer Bublé found a familiar face in the “Hollaback Girl” singer, as his friendship with Shelton predates the pair’s marriage. Recently, Stefani revealed her husband’s true feelings about her Voice co-star.

Gwen Stefani: Blake Shelton “Loves That Kid”

After sitting out season 25, Gwen Stefani has returned to The Voice for her eighth season. During an interview with Access Hollywood released Oct. 19, the “Just a Girl” singer, 55, opened up about the bond she shares with her co-stars.

“I knew Michael was great because him and Blake are, like, besties,” Stefani said. “And every time he comes up—like, they text or whatever—’I love that kid. I love that guy.’

“Blake loves him,” she continued. “So I knew I was going to love him if Blake loved him.”

How Blake Shelton Talked Michael Bublé Into Joining ‘The Voice’

In fact, The Voice viewers have Mr. Gwen Stefani to thank for Bublé appearing on the show at all. The “Feeling Good” crooner, 49, revealed ahead of the season 26 premiere that he rejected the NBC program’s offer at least 15 times before accepting the gig.

“My favourite part about it is, thank God we’re not judges,” Bublé told Today. “The other shows have judges. We are coaches. And the reason I say that is because most of the singers are better than me, and I have no place ever judging anyone.”

It was only at the urging of Blake Shelton that the Grammy Award winner decided to give The Voice a try.

“You know I love Blake and he’s a great friend, and he talked me into it,” Bublé said. “Truthfully, he talked me into it. And a big part of it was the people that they had coming.”
