Netflix‘s new rom-com Nobody Wants This is being praised by fans for delivering the best first kiss scene in years.
The 10-episode series stars Adam Brody and Kristen Bell, both 44, and comes from writer Erin Foster, daughter of David Foster and step-daughter of Katharine McPhee.
It follows the unconventional love story of Bell’s character – a sex podcaster named Joanne – who unexpectedly falls for charming rabbi Noah, played by The O.C favorite Brody.
The second episode sees the duo kiss for the first time and the swoon-worthy moment left flustered viewers fanning themselves as they praised the duo’s chemistry in the perfectly executed smooch.
‘This kiss made me feel things I didn’t know I was capable of!!!’ wrote one excited viewer on X.

The 10-episode series stars Adam Brody and Kristen Bell and sees their characters smooch at the end of the second episode
Another wrote: ‘Joanne and Noah’s first kiss on Nobody Wants this, I think I’m going to faint.’
‘The romantic tension and ELECTRIC chemistry between Adam Brody and Kristen Bell during their first kiss in Nobody Wants,’ stated a third. ‘This is actually driving me up a wall. THAT IS A GODDAMN KISS.’
Another viewer commented: ‘I just finished watching nobody wants this and?? the chemistry is off the charts… during their first kiss I felt like I had to look away cause it felt so real.’
One fan claimed: ‘This kiss is pure perfection, I commented yesterday, the chemistry, the music, the intensity, the way he grabs her, it’s a kiss that will be remembered by audience, for sure.’
‘I have never been kissed like that and I think if I ever am, It would change my entire personality’, joked another.
One fan added: ‘The first kiss on “Nobody wants this”. Now that’s a kiss. That’s how I like to kiss.’
Another noted: ‘This is actually such an insane kiss… I Will be thinking about it for the foreseeable future.’
Others specifically praised Brody, with one commenting: ‘No disrespect to Kristen Bell but Adam Brody could make kissing a tree look like the most passionate kiss to ever happen. That man be kissing.’
The swoon-worthy moment immediately set social media alight as fans praised the duo’s chemistry in the perfectly executed kiss
‘The way he gathered her into that kiss *bites bottom lip*,’ one fan wrote as another added: ‘Nobody Wants This bringing back REAL passionate kissing on tv. We love you Adam Brody.’
The series follows Joanne, who is ardently looking for love and then talking about all her bad dates on the podcast she shares with her sister Morgan (Justine Lupe).
The podcast is called Nobody Wants This, naturally. Things grow complicated when Joanne meets Noah who is fresh off a near-engagement to Rebecca, played by Emily Arlook, after realizing that the relationship was something Rebecca and his family wanted but he didn’t.
Noah tells Joanne that as a rabbi there is nothing worse for his professional image than falling for a shiksa.
‘Technically, it’s a Yiddish insult that means you’re impure and detestable, but these days it just means you’re a hot, blonde non-Jew,’ Noah explains to Joanne.
Reflecting on how they worked to make the first kiss scene as impactful as possible, Bell told US Weekly: ‘I think what’s clear to both of us is that the butterflies and the heart palpitations live in the anticipation — the lead-up is so much more romantic than the actual kiss.’
Brody added: ‘I don’t think we talked about this either, but we might have — but maybe the thing that felt the most real to me is then we stop [kissing], and then you’ve got to go, and then there’s another quick kiss.
‘That, to me, feels so organic, true to life — the first time you’re making out with somebody, and it’s so great and you don’t want to say goodbye, and it’s like you’re kissing until the last second.’
Fans took to X, formerly Twitter to share their delight about the romantic interaction

In another interview with MTV, Bell admitted that it had been daunting when they read the note ‘they experience the world’s greatest kiss’ in the script.
The Veronica Mars star claimed the key to their success was focusing on the ‘anticipation that you’re letting the audience live through that builds.’ ‘We just took our time,’ she added.
‘I wasn’t prepared for Adam to put his hands on my face, as he did with so many of the kisses.
‘And I remember audibly hearing all of the women, and some men at video village, gasp. And I was like, “Oh this is going to work”.’

Show creator Foster revealed to TVLine that Brody hadn’t been onboard with part of the scene which saw Noah command Joanne to put down her bag and ice cream before the kiss.
She stated: ‘Adam really didn’t want to tell her to put her ice cream down, and it was really important to me, and I, like, basically made him do it. Because he thought that it was like, “Why am I, like, bossing her around and being a d**k and telling her what to do?”
‘And I was like, “No, no, no. It is so sexy, because you’re this sweet guy, and you’re emotionally available, and you’re kind, and you need to be able to say to her, “OK, you want me to kiss you? Put your s**t down. I’m about to give you the best f***ing kiss of your life.”
‘And then, once we did it, I think he really understood why it was so important to me, and it really worked.’
The series also features a Veronica Mars reunion between Bell and Ryan Hansen.
