A Mother’s Son, the “gripping” crime drama starring The Split‘s Nicola Walker and Doc Martin‘s Martin Clunes, is streaming for free in the UK now– here’s how you can watch it!

The two-part limited series is set in the sleepy Suffolk market town of Eastlee, with the local community being rocked after the body of a local schoolgirl, Lorraine Mullary, is discovered.
New into the town are Rosie Cutler (Hermione Norris) and Ben Banks (Clunes), who have merged their respective families. As the investigation of Lorraine’s murder begins, Rosie begins to suspect that her son Jamie (Alexander Arnold) may be guilty of the crime.
Originally released on ITV in 2012, A Mother’s Son has returned home after recently being added to ITVX, with both hour-long instalments being currently available for free on the streamer
In addition to Walker, who portrays DC Sue Upton, the stacked supporting cast for the crime drama includes Holby City‘s Paul McGann, The Serpent‘s Ellie Bamber and Shameless‘ Annabelle Apsion
Created by Chris Lang and directed by Edward Bazalgette, the crime drama has received a generally positive response from viewers, with IMDb currently reporting an average user rating of 6.8 out of 10 from over 1700 reviews
“I thought it was pretty good and with a cast like Nicola Walker, Hermione Norris, Paul McGann et al you can’t go far wrong imo. Good plot and acting… Certainly worth your time,” wrote one user.
“Great to have a sparse, lean and pacy drama that only runs for 2 hours. No padding, no stupid red herrings, no plot lines full of holes. Excellent characters and acting,” opined another user as they called it “gripping”.
“A Mother’s Son is a very good two part drama series… It’s a good, solid mystery, it doesn’t really have the twists or any suspense, it relies more on doubt, and the conflict that’s arisen in the family,” wrote one other viewer.
A Mother’s Son is streaming now on ITVX.
