Amid preparations for Kate Middleton’s annual “Together at Christmas” carol service at Westminster Abbey, the future queen has reportedly extended a show of support to Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, whose father is, of course, Andrew Mountbatten Windsor. While the disgraced former prince will not be receiving an invitation this year, apparently his daughters already have.

Royal commentator Neil Sean noted that though this arrangement potentially presents a “difficult dilemma” for the sisters, the royal family is eager to be “seen as united amid what has been a very difficult year.”
“If they don’t attend, it looks like they’re snubbing a prestigious invite,” he told Fox News. “If they do attend, they know there could be a media circus with them at the center of attention.”

The former Duke of York’s fall from grace has dominated headlines in recent months. Following the removal of his titles and privileges, Beatrice and Eugenie both left the U.K. The two sisters have since returned and were spotted in public for the first time in Mayfair earlier this month.

As for their own titles? According to reports, Beatrice and Eugenie will not affected. They are currently ninth and 12th in line to the throne, respectively. Indeed, King Charles “feels quite responsible” for his nieces, and is “determined to embrace” them.
“The sins of the father are not the sins of the child,” Longtime royal photographer Arthur Edwards wrote in a recent essay published in The Sun. “The girls are wonderful assets to the royal family, and neither of them has ever put a foot wrong.”
