A 13-year-old Alabama boy knocked out his father after the man attacked him and a woman, police allege.

On Monday, March 9, deputies were called to a home in Foley where a man had allegedly tried to strangle a woman during an argument, according to the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office, WALA/KOLO8, Fox10 and WBRC report.

When the man, identified as Daniel Hernandez-Lopez, 32, went outside, he was confronted by his 13-year-old son, the sheriff’s office said.

Hernandez-Lopez allegedly lunged at the boy and tried to hit him with a bicycle, the sheriff’s office said.

In response, the teen allegedly punched his father several times in the face, knocking him unconscious, the sheriff’s office said.

The man appeared to be highly intoxicated, the sheriff’s office alleged.

Hernandez was arrested on Tuesday, March 10 at 1:40 p.m., and remains held in the Baldwin County Jail, according to online jail records.

His mugshot shows his eyes, lips and face bloody and swollen.

He is charged with domestic violence strangulation, according to online jail records.

It is unclear whether he has retained an attorney who can speak on his behalf.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office did not respond to requests for information.
