LATEST INJURY UPDATE: Caitlin Clark Unexpectedly Sidelined for Aces Game – Major Setback for Indiana Fever!

The Indiana Fever announced that Caitlin Clark will not play in Thursday’s game against the Las Vegas Aces due to a left groin injury. It will mark the fourth straight game Clark has missed.

Clark missed last Thursday night’s loss vs. Los Angeles and Friday’s win over Dallas due to the injury. Fever coach Stephanie White said Sunday that Clark was considered “day to day” and was upgraded to questionable ahead of Tuesday’s win over the Minnesota Lynx, though she did not play in the contest.

The team announced Wednesday afternoon that Clark would be out for Thursday’s game against the Aces.

The reigning WNBA Rookie of the Year had previously missed nearly three weeks and five games due to a quad injury she suffered against the New York Liberty on May 24. The Fever went 2-3 during that stretch, and WNBA television ratings dropped 55%, according to USA TODAY.

After returning to action on June 14 with a 32-point, nine-assist performance in a win over the Liberty, Clark has struggled at times in recent games. Over her last three games, the 23-year-old is averaging 12 points on 26.5% shooting with 22 turnovers. While it hasn’t been all bad — she recorded 9.3 assists per game during that span — she’s also made just 1 of her 23 3-point attempts
