Prince Harry revealed that he feels “grateful” to be raising Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in the US in a seemingly brutal snub at the Royal Family.
After announcing they were to step down from royal duties in January 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shortly moved to begin a new life in America with their young son.
While in conversation with columnist and Dealbook founder Andrew Ross Sorkin at The New York Times DealBook Online Summit on December 4, Harry admitted that he would love to stay in the US – suggesting that he has no plans to move back to the UK.
Speaking about his children, Harry said: “I very much enjoy living here and bringing my kids up here. It’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live.
“I feel as though it’s the life that my mum wanted for me. To be able to do the things I’m able to do with my kids that I undoubtedly wouldn’t be able to do in the UK — it’s huge. That is a fantastic opportunity and I’m hugely grateful for that.”

Harry and Meghan are currently raising Archie, now aged five, and Lilibet, now aged three, in Montecito, California.
PEOPLE previously reported that Harry officially changed his listed country of residence on paperwork from the UK to the US in 2023.
At the same time, it was revealed that the couple had “vacated” their UK home, Frogmore Cottage. The five-bedroom home, which is located in Windsor, was their son’s first home.
Having previously spoken about his fears over his family’s safety in the UK, Harry touched on this again in New York City. He said: “What worried me most was worrying that would happen to me, or to my wife, or to my kids.”
The event attended by the royal had a well-known lineup including appearances from public figures such as Jeff Bezos and Serena Williams.
